Faces class update & new goodies for packages

Don't have much time before I gotta go pick up Aiden from school, but I wanted to give y'all a heads up on my upcoming "All About Faces" mixed media portraits class that starts next week. As of right now, there are only 2 spots left. So if you were thinking of signing up, now's the time. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be offering this class again in 2009....it depends on alot of things that are kinda up in the air at the moment.

Oh and I wanted to share the new goodies I got today to put into my packages.... bookmarks featuring a portion of my "Follow" painting. I'm a book lover and I am always on the lookout for great bookmarks....only made sense to make some of my own! Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. ;) So starting this week, all purchases will get one of these lovelies inside. :D

Last chance to sign up for online backgrounds class is today

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up and let you know that I have a few more spots available in the "Organic Dimensions" backgrounds/collage class that starts this coming Monday, Sept. 15th. I will be closing registration at 9:00 pm Pacific Time tonight (Sept. 12th), so today is your last chance to sign up for the class.

It's really a fun class that's all about loosening up and letting go. A great class for all levels....even a total beginner who's never even picked up a paint brush. I walk you through everything step by step and my videos are like you're looking over my shoulder while I work in my studio. Everyone gets that prime spot right next to the instructor! :D

There are some spots available in the "All About Faces" portraits class too that starts in a few weeks (Oct. 6th). We had some amazing work come out of the previous sessions.....those who thought they couldn't draw or paint faces realized that they totally could!!! It was awesome!!

Well, I've got to go pick up Aiden from school in a bit....he's been sick for the past couple of days and stayed home from school yesterday and went in late today (I've been posting updates about it on my Twitter). Needless to say, no art going on here at the moment. He's a trooper though and I just pray he gets over this quickly 'cause he really misses his new school friends when he's stuck here at home with ol' Momma. LOL ;)

Play time in the studio

Ahhh it feels sooooo good to have paint on my hands again!!!! :D A sweet artist friend of mine has been busy making ACEOs and it inspired me to pull out the linen canvas ACEO cards I just bought and play with some new techniques for a brand new class.....yep, ya heard me right. ;) I'm brainstorming for some new classes. One of which I'm close to announcing on my mailing list and the other I'm just in the planning stages of right now.

The first one will be a inspiration art journal class focused on helping you find your "style". The one I'm playing with in the studio right now.....well it has to do with creating backgrounds and it's a  technique class, so it'll just be all art play and fun with no pressure to have a polished finished piece!!! Just me filling your head with tons of techniques and lettin' the paint fly! LOL! :D

Aiden had a great day on his first day of kindergarten yesterday! Thanks so much y'all for all your sweet comments and well wishes! He was so excited to go back today....although I did have a bit of a problem getting him going this morning, so I guess the excitement has died down a bit. ;) But he really seems to love it, so I hope he'll flourish there.

Below is a pic of him after leaving his classroom. He was full of smiles! Then I had brought him a special snack to have in the car on the way home. I think he shared a bit of it with his best friend Simon (the bear in the background)....he's such a good sharer. :)

And much to my surprise, I had two deer cross the road in front of me as I pulled out of our subdivision to go pick up Aiden yesterday. Thankfully there was no one behind me and I had my camera with me. It's a  blurry shot, but it's the first one I've managed to get of the beautiful deer we share the area with.

I'd better get back to work in the studio....gosh it's lunchtime already!!!! Man, time sure does fly! Oh and speaking of my classes, my "Organic Dimensions" backgrounds/collage class starts in just over a week (Sept. 15th), so you still have just over a week to sign up for the last time I'll be offering this class in 2008.

Hope y'all are having a great summer! Things are super busy around here, so I've had no time to post lately. And being the end of summer means Aiden's birthday, family visiting, and getting ready for Aiden starting kindergarten (Yikes!). I'll be back to posting regularly once he's all settled in his new school I'm sure.

Online class update (and yep, it's still busy, busy 'round here)

It's been a busy week with no time for painting outside of finishing up the painting for my current "All About Faces" online class. We're entering our last week and I'm just amazed at all the fantastic work my students are doing! I'm like a proud Momma! :D And speaking of the faces class, I have room for one more person in my next session of this class that starts on June 30th.
