Beautiful art that resonates in the soul

Contemporary Abstract Painter Paulette Insall's paintings come from her heart....expressing emotion as a visual language, using pure color and expressive marks to connect and communicate. Her abstract art emits a special light and magic that is both spiritual and moving.

Excuse the mess

I'm in the process of doing some updates on my website, but somehow I managed to delete my header logo in the progress and can't seem to get it back. I think I may have edited some code that is keeping me from re-instating the old logo. Please bear with me as I figure this out. Until then, you'll see the theme title up there {Trinity Theme}. Thanks for your patience! :) I've also been sick the past few days and so has my kiddo....and now we've had a few inches of snow and everything in Portland has shut down. Lol! So if you don't hear from me 'til next week, you'll know why. :)

Some catching up to do

It's been a while since I last posted. There's been some issues with health (mine and my son's) that we've been trying to get a handle on, so that's been consuming a lot of time/energy. I started back painting a couple of weeks ago and have been posting progress on my Facebook page, but haven't stopped by here. Now that I'm painting regularly again getting a new body of work ready to submit to some galleries, I'll be checking in more regularly. Got a haircut today.....my first one in two years!!!! Still in a bit of shock from going this short, but I've gotten good responses on it so far. :)

So without further ado, here's a bunch of pics so I can catch you up....

First of, I got a haircut today.....my first one in two years!!!! Still in a bit of shock from going this short, but I've gotten good responses on it so far. :) I've had many people tell me it was very artsy and funky, which was totally what I was going for! :D

Below are a bunch of pictures of the paintings I am currently working on in my home art studio....I took some pics as they progressed so you could see some of the steps in their creation. I now work only on intuition, so I don't plan these ahead of time. They come into being as each layer is added.

My gluten-free life: perfume

20131023-130624.jpg Ever since finding out I had a gluten allergy over two years ago, I stopped using perfume....along with any other body product that might possibly contain gluten/wheat. I am so sensitive that I put something on my skin that had gluten in it, then I would have a reaction....which for me was itching, redness, and within a few hours also joint pain and fatigue. Needless to say, it hasn't been easy trying to find products that are safe for me to use. I even have to take my own shampoo and conditioner when I go to get my haircut because the salon I go to doesn't have gluten-free haircare products.

I was so thankful when I recently discovered that a local company here in Portland, OR called Pacifica, made perfumes, soaps, and lotions that were gluten-free! I saw on their website that the pure grain alcohol that they use in their perfumes is corn-sourced and gluten-free. Hallelujah! And they also use natural ingredients and oils, so I wasn't putting other icky stuff on my skin either. They just came out with a lip tint that is also gluten-free so I'll have to check that out soon as well.

So for all y'all out there going though this too, there is hope! It takes time and research because our options are so limited, but there are more and more companies jumping on the gluten-free bandwagon when comes to health and beauty products....you just have to do your homework. :D
