Foodie Friday....raspberry tangerine dream smoothie
any one who is friend with me on facebook knows i've been doing the green smoothie thing for a couple of months now...pretty much daily. i've been sharing my recipes there in the past couple of weeks now that i'm starting to get the hang of smoothie making. then i came across a blog post by one of my online artist friends (hey roberta!) where she was partipating in "foodie friday". and i thought, how awesome!! i want to do that too! so here's my first contribution...
4 oz. water 1 cup red grapes 1 tangerine peeled 1 slice fresh pineapple 1 cup frozen raspberries 1 tablespoon flax seed (or ground flax meal) 1 cup kale 1 stalk celery 1 cup ice
yield: approx. 24 oz.
if you have a high speed blender (like a blendtec or a vitamix), just throw in all your ingredients starting with the water and soft ingredients first, then your frozen ingredients and ice last. if you have a regular blender, i suggest blending a few ingredients up at a time, then adding one or two more and blending until everything has been added.
blend until smooth, put in a pretty glass, & enjoy! ♥
note: don't let the color throw you.....it's super yummy!!! tastes mostly like raspberries with a hint of the other fruits...i don't taste the kale or celery at all, but i'm a bit of a green smoothie veteran after drinking these daily for over two months now. you can always decrease the amount of greens. :D
Wrapping up the week
I'm painting edges of finished paintings today in preparation for putting some new originals up for sale next week. Been quite a long time since I've offered any originals, so if you've been waiting then the wait is almost over. :D Thanks for all your encouragement with this new direction my work is taking! I feel like I'm really starting to come fully into the artist God created me to be...I just need to stay out of His way and let Him unlock what He put within me. :) Which, I'm sure you all know, ain't the easiest thing. I'm just gonna try to keep moving and trusting...
