Painting experiment

A few weeks ago, i had the opportunity to do some experimentation at my friend Michelle's studio with a few of my dear artist friends. this painting was the result of what Michelle shared with us. Painting this way has taught me so much in a short amount of time. Can't wait to see how these techniques come out in my future work!
Stillness....and letting go
today some of my dear artist friends gathered at my house and the common theme that is seeming to run through most of our lives right now is that of needing to be still. we are all struggling with this and yet God continues to show us that it is what we need in this season.
then when i sat down to take a peek today at the blogs that i read, what do i find? yet another kindred soul experiencing and seeking the same thing. she and i seem to be running parallel in what God is speaking to us right now. thanks mandy for sharing your walk and letting God continue to speak through you.
"Cease striving and know that I am God." ~ Psalm 46:10 NASB
i need to let God be God....He is in control and i need to let go.
“Even if I did talk to them – even if I shouted – they would not hear. You see it all depends on what sort of person you are. You have to be a very still sort of person, who can put all your attention onto what is in front of you, or you can’t possibly hope to hear what is going on. It’s really rather a gift, and people who haven’t got it always say there is no such thing. I suppose it makes them feel they are not missing anything then.”
- Hammy the Hamster in the storybook Tales of Mr. Pengachoosa
“Being still and doing nothing are two very different things.”

Wishin' i could be two places at once
I'm off to enjoy a nice sunny day with the fam.....some lunch and a little bike riding hopefully followed with a trip for some ice cream (cold stone I hope so I get my current fave cotton candy with rainbow sprinkles). I find myself wishin' I could be two places at once tho....creating in my studio (it's sitting sadly neglected this week) and spending time out enjoying my family. What two places do you wish you could be right now?
