new work....from before i got blindsided lol!
so i'm finally feeling better....still a bit stuffy, but so much better than last week! yea! thanks so much for all the get well wishes! y'all rock! :D
thought i'd post pics for y'all of what i did before i got hit by the nasty bug. my lighting in here is not so good because it's a typically gray northwest day today and i just didn't feel like setting up the light tent....but they are a pretty good representation of how they look in person.
these were all done as part of the online class i'm taking with the sweet and talented mystele. it's really pushing me to grow...something i've been needing to do for a while now, but chose (unconsciously) to stay where i felt safe. well, God had another thing in mind! lo! when i tried a couple of times during the summer to paint in the style i'm known for, all i got was frustration. i didn't understand what was going on at the time, but now i do. these pieces came so much easier and i feel much more connected to God's plan for the gifts He's given me. no more fighting for contol....i'm letting go. :D

sick again
Well later the same day I posted the peek of my new painting, I started feeling icky again. I was only feeling better for like only a day and a half. Lol! This time is much worse than last week so I've spent the last few days sleeping and resting when I couldn't sleep (aiden has been out of school the past couple of days due to teacher training) and drinking plenty of fluids. Today was the first day I actually felt considerably better, so Aiden and I ventured out for lunch....unfortunately it totally wiped me out! But I HAD to get out of the house 'cause I was goin' stir crazy! ha ha! I did finsh the painting the same day I started it, but just haven't had the energy to get pics. Hopefully by the first of next week.
Just wanted to let y'all know what was going on in case you were wondering. ;) :D

portrait class starts monday!!!
i've been busy trying to get things ready for another session of my "all about faces" mixed media portrait class that starts this monday. aiden's pretty sick right now, poor guy, so it's been a bit slow going....just trying to do what i can while making sure he's resting and stays as comfortable as possible.
i'll be sending out invites tomorrow evening some time to the private class blog, so you still have a chance to sign up before the class begins. everything is available for you on the first day of class, so you can go at your own pace. below is a slide show of some of my past students work.

i've heard this song many times, but just a couple of days ago i heard it again on the radio and it just hit me right where i am right now and i was in tears. i know God is doing something big inside of me right now (which is very apparently evident in my latest painting in the post below) and i'm finally giving in.....and how he says in the song "it feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace"....exactly! click here for the lyrics
